Samuel was born in 1801. He was the son of James Adams and Margaret Woods. He passed away in 1868.

A family tree with a Samuel Clark Adams had his Adams ancestors as: father James Walker Adams (21 Oct 1773-7 Dec 1857; b. Botetort Co., VA and d. Adams Twp., IN in Parke County, IN), grandfather Samuel D. Adams (1745-28 Aug 1812; b. in Somerset, NJ and d. in Salvisa, KY in Mercer Co.), and great grandfather Samuel D. Adams (1717-1803).

In 1850 a Samuel Adams (49, b. KY, farmer) was at the head of household in Adams, IN (Parke County) with Nancy Adams (49, b. TN), James Adams (21, b. IN, farmer), John Adams (19, b.
