Research Notes

Note: NAME: Adoniram Admire Judson Adams
NAME: The name Adoniram (Adonirum) Judson comes from a Famous Baptist Missionary to Burma who was born in 1788. He was imprisoned and tortured for translating the Bible.
NAME: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adoniram_Judson
Note: Note: We learn from Adoniram Sr.'s obituary that he had 4 girls and 4 boys. 2 of the girls died in infancy. We also learn that a Mrs. J. L. Joyce was a daughter but we don't know if J L is her husband's initials or hers. In the same article, another daughter is listed as Mrs. Martha Fleming which would tend to indicate that J L is the daughters own initials rather than her husbands. (This is purley supposition and the facts are unknown). We do know that Martha was one of the 4 girls that survived. If "J L" are the initials of the other surviving daughter, then Mary and Minerva where the two daughters who died in infancy. In a letter in the possesion of Ally, she states that a letter from AJ to his son Charles L mentions daughters Mary and Martha. If these are the two surviving daughters, then Mrs. J L Joyce would be the married name of Mary. I havn't seen the contents of this letter as yet. (HNC)

Yesterday, I sent you the name of Pat/Eldon Brownell. Eldon is a descendant of Isaac Adams, son of Joel Adams, Jr. Tonight, I heard from yet another family member, Sue Ellen Adams, whose husband is the great-grandson of Adoniram Judson Adams, another son of Roxanna and Major Adams.
In reviewing what I have and what I might need early next week when all the material is put together for DAR, I find I do not have a copy of the 1810 Census that might show Major as a male child of 1 years in the household. Would any one of you have it?
Once I get all this tied together, the new documents scanned, etc. I will just put it all on CDs and forward to each of you. We can make corrections/additions as necessary. If the historians/genealogists haven't been able to reconcile all this in 200 years, who am I to say my records are accurate....because little can be documented.
...Ginny
