Postcard photograph of the banqueting hall in Castle Hedingham taken circa 1918. The Norman arch is said to be the largest surviving arch of its kind in Western Europe from this period.

This stone castle was built by Robert's father around a manor granted the de Veres by William the Conqueror, 1066.

This postcard was published before January 1, 1923 and it is anonymous or pseudonymous due to unknown authorship. It is in the public domain in the United States as well as countries and areas where the copyright terms of anonymous or pseudonymous works are 90 years or less since publication.
