The Latta coat of arms was given to a man named Latta, by King Richard 1st who made him a Baron for his services in the crusades.

Maj Gen James Latta, of Philidelphia Pa, Gen Sims Latta of Columbia Tenn. Gov John Latta (my cousin) of Greensburg Pa. Sir John Latta of London Engl & many other prominent members of the family, including ministers lawyers, doctors, college professors, bank presidents etc have cheerfully given me all the information they could get.

Samuel Latta of branch #4 married Lydia Arnold and their children Theo, Lydia, Arnold have a wonderful family tree. She was related to six presidents, Adams (father & son), Taylor Grant, Taft and Franklin Roosenvelt. To two Mayflower pilgrims Richard Warren & John Howland, and through them and to nearly all the old kings of Europe, including Wm the Conqueror, Charlemagne, the Loris of France, Alfred the Great, the Vikings, Robert Bruce of Scotland, Queen Victoria of England and King George of England.
