My great-grandmother was Anna Belle Shane (1865-1931) from Jefferson County in eastern Ohio. She came from a long line of Shanes: her father was Rev. Joseph Shane (1834-1866), whose father was James Shane (1805-1863), whose father was Benjamin Shane (1775-1818), who moved from western Pennsylvania to eastern Ohio. I'd love to share Shane research with anyone!

My great great grandmother was named Eliza Ann Shane. She was born around 1845 in Ohio and died December 26, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan. She was married to Joseph B. Ingram of Evansville, Indiana. They had several sons and I'm descended from their son Thomas Jefferson Ingram. Would love to collaborate with anyone who may be related to her and have information regarding the Shane family.

Tom Shane of Ireland and Montana and his descendants. He was the husband of Sarah Shane, Crow Indian. There are a variety of spellings for this name. I have seen Shean on family documents, for example.

My maiden name is Shane and I am stuck on my 5X Great Grandfather James Shane (1745-1804) and am not sure if it's possible to get further back than him because it seems that his father was pressed into service aboard a British Man of War in New York and he was never heard from again. In all of the family histories that I have found, no one even knows James's parents' names. I would love to collaborate with anyone else connected to this family.
