I had no idea of my Welsh roots in deep history until I started tracing my lineage back across the Atlantic. I'm always interested in new knowledge of cultures, and it's even more so when it turns out that it's a little personal. My lineage goes back to the days of fighting the English, and pacts with the Irish and Dal Riatan, so, I'm in!

Specifically researching my Day ancestors who were originally named Dee and before that I believe the Welsh name was Dzu -- I've traced them back a pretty long way but haven't added their names here yet.
Also I previously believed my Adams ancestors were originally descended from the "ap Adams" Welsh noble line however I now think I probably followed a false trail laid by someone in the 1800s to make President Adams seem as if he had royal roots [edit] | |

According to older AncestryDNA results that I got, and from working up 1,000s of profiles, England, Wales & Northwestern Europe make up 77% of my ethnicity. The other 23%? Ireland and Scotland!

Cymru Welsh Royals and Aristocrats feature in my ancestry through the Baker Gabb family's descent from Owain Glyndwr's daughter Elizabeth so I'm interested in the WikiTree coverage of the work done by Peter Bartrum and others on these ancestors and their connections.
