Aw, that's too bad.  Well, that is a respectable age!

Be sure to add a Centenarian sticker when his profile is opened.

So many wonderful movies!  Guess my favorite was seeing him in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and he sang  A Whale of a Tale. Such a great childhood memory!!

Hate to say it but I thought he'd died 20 yrs ago. Really. At about age 83. Vague recollection of something seen on the TV.  Shows how much attention I pay to show biz (not much).

Edit add: Spartacus (1960) is the only film I DO recall he was in, saw it ... 3x? Think it was 3x, parts of it anyway, on TV.  I JUST googled up the array of film posters for Kirk Douglas (LOTS!!) and ... I hate to say it Spartacus was the only one I recognized but he starred with a lot of "big names" film after film -- you should see those posters -- I used google and the search term
kirk douglas films
and the posters were displayed as images

Loved the film Spartacus!  I always cry at the ending.  I also love the scene where the men who fought with him shout "I am Spartacus!"

I am so surprised that no one has tried to connect him to the tree!   I meant by building out his family tree....

Here he is in 1930, and his name was Isadore

"United States Census, 1930," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X78J-6H8 : accessed 6 February 2020), Isadore Demsky in household of Harry Demsky, Amsterdam, Montgomery, New York, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 14, sheet 9A, line 15, family 167, NARA microfilm publication T626 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 2002), roll 1456; FHL microfilm 2,341,191.

And his marriage record has his parents.  "Louisiana Parish Marriages, 1837-1957," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QKJZ-CHV4 : 13 March 2018), Harry Demsky in entry for Kirk Douglas and Diana Dill, 02 Nov 1943; citing Orleans, Louisiana, United States, various parish courthouses, Louisiana; FHL microfilm 2,320,736.

Maybe the easiest way to connect him is through Catherine Zeta-Jones as she is Welsh. Yes, I know, she is still alive, but from a connection point of view that might be the easiest way.
He is connected. I don't see the jigsaw logo beside his name. It would be great to add at least his parents, though.

Edit - 22 degrees from Henry VIII. Connection goes through his wife, Diana Dill. I may be wrong but I think it was there long ago.

Kirk Douglas graduated from St. Lawrence University, Canton, New York,  in 1939. He majored in English.  He was president of the student body and on the wrestling team.  I cannot secure the source due to camp wifi problems.  Can be retrieved from the Watertown Daily Times but probably a cost involved if someone wants to enter this information on the profile.
