Yes, I'd be inclined to follow the History of Parliament on this one.  I'll alter the parentage accordingly.

I've added what I can to her biography.  Looking at the dates and the details in the heralds' visitations of Cumberland, together with various Surrey histories, I now suspect that she is more likely to the sister of Oliver Sandes (Sandes-39) and daughter of William Sandys (Sandys-58).  To link all this up, it would be necessary to merge Sandes-39 with Sandys-68 and Sandys-26 with Sandys-91. I'm going to propose these and see what happens.
I was reading up on this yesterday and I don't think it is clear how her father is related to the Sandys of the Vyne family - as you mentioned, we're not really sure if her father is correct.

Sir Francis Weston was pretty notable so if we keep looking we'll probably find some recent scholarship regarding his ancestry.
There's a pedigree in Manning and Bray v.2 p. 671 but despite the fact it was published originally in 1804 they digitized the 1974 reprint so you can't get the full text. Once I get my hands on it I'll let you know.

Manning and Bray v.2 p. 671 has this pedigree

William Sandes of Rotenby St Bees, Cumberland, father of:
Oliver Sandes m. Joan
Anne (Sandes) Weston m. Sir Richard Weston

Oliver had a son Thomas Sandes of Dorking, Surrey (d. 29 Jun 1579)  who m. Jane Agmondisham, (d. 10 Dec 1557), heiress of John Agmondisham.  I looked around for his descendants and couldn't find any.

He had a da. Juliana who m. John Weston of Okeham, Surrey.

I noticed Oliver was attached to the Sandys of the Vyne again so I think we're back to square one...

This book has this sketchy line:

Basically Robert Sandys of Rattenby Castle, St. Bees had two sons John, and William, of Furnace Fells who was the ancestor of the Vyne Sandys.

John had as son Roger, Roger had a son William who I think is the one above.

Now that I know what I'm looking for the pedigree was reprinted in another book p. 19

On p. 18 it has the Heralds Visitation which is different and confusing. I'm not sure which one to use.

I suspect these all derive from the visitations of Cumberland.  You can see the Harleian Society's publication of the 1615 visitation at https://archive.org/details/visitationcount04britgoog/page/n35/mode/1up

This asserts that Oliver's parents are William Sandys and Margaret Rawson of the Cumberland family.  What is your rationale for disconnecting him from them?

The Sandes from Rottingby Castle/Rottington Hall St. Bees Cumbria are the senior branch and the Sandes/Sandys from Furness Fells Lancashire, the ancestors of the Sandys of the Vyne, Hampshire were the junior branch.  Someone else did similar research  and if he's born in St. Bees those shouldn't be his parents since that's the wrong line. The pedigree I found in the History of Surrey which was reprinted was the one I was following. Also, we know very little about Oliver - the monumental brass has no information about his parents and with conflicting evidence from the pedigrees he's probably better off with no parents.

Hi Kirk,

Okay, let's mark them as uncertain for now and add the discussion under research notes.  It would be polite to involve the other profile manager too.  I'm happy to do all that when I get back from vacation on Thursday.

Regards,

Chris.
