Upload and Merge Additional Gedcom

I currently only have one branch of my tree on WikiTree. The rest of my tree (which is very extensive, comprising well over 1000 individuals) has been built on a different platform but I can save it as a Gedcom file. What I would like to know is whether I can merge this Gedcom with my existing Wikitree tree and merge any individuals that appear in both Gedcoms? If this can be done how would I proceed? A step-by-step guide would be helpful as I find the existing instructions on Wikitree are difficult to follow.

Hi, Gerald,

GEDCOMs

GEDCOMpare

Yes, you will be able to add new individuals as well merge/update existing profiles on WikiTree with the same individuals in the GEDCOM file.

The GEDCOMpare link above explains it far better than I can, I'm sure.

Hope it helps. smiley

Thanks.I'll give it a go!
One cautionary note: If you have two (or more) GEDCOMs in GEDCOMpare at once, be extra careful to check for duplicates of the people who are in both GEDCOMs.
