The Connection Finder page says "15,992,322 people are connected within 100 degrees of each other on our global family tree." It seems to me that we've been stuck at about 8,000 profiles short of 16 million for quite some time.
Is this count getting updated like it's supposed to?
Yeah, it looks like the count may be incorrect.
Thanks for reporting it; you can keep track of the status here.
It's been stuck on the same figure since 25 February, which I think was the day that the connection anchor became Henry VIII. The same happened in November 2017 and Chris's response then was 'We neglected to update all the places we were using Kevin Bacon as the "primary" anchor when we swapped him for AJ.'
So maybe something similar has happened now. (see my post here)
That's great information, Carol!
I sent a private message to Jamie to alert her to your post.
Thanks to Carol's clue and Jamie's work, the Connection Finder totals got fixed, as of yesterday.
The new count (currently 16,224,771 puts WikiTree's connected profiles count way past the 16 million milestone, and well on our way to 17 million!
