WikiTree reports Joseph Bosworth/Bosworth-100 as the son of “Ann Bate”/Bate-336 who is otherwise reported the wife of Rev. Stephen Bachiler (PGM). An Ancestry Family Tree is the only source reported on the profile of Bosworth-100.
Based on my review, Joseph Bosworth/Bosworth-100 is likely the alter ego of Bosworth-44. The latter is otherwise reported on WikiTree as the father of Alice Bosworth, immigrant and wife of Richard Hutchinson (1602-1682).
Family files frequently report Alice born 1605-1606 and her father as a Joseph Bosworth born 1574. Sometimes he is said to have died in 1606; sometimes he is said to have died in 1683. The earlier death date is found on Bosworth-100; the later, on Bosworth-44 (ala, 109 years old).
I know of no information that would associate Alice Bosworth and/or spouse Richard Hutchinson, with the family of immigrant and Hampton founder, Rev. Stephen Bachiler, nor that his first wife or her presumed brother, Rev. John Bates of Wherwell.
Are others able to add information regarding discovery, reason/logic that might change this understanding? If not, then then might the relationship between “Ann Bate”/Bate-336 and son Joseph Bosworth/Bosworth-100 be severed?

I conducted an Internet search, overviewed FamilySearch “User Submitted Genealogies” (including Ancestral File and Pedigree Resource File); also the IGI. I examined information in one published source that contained information that seemed it could pertain to Joseph Bosworth.
1. Internet Search returns shy of 4000 entries for query << "Joseph Bosworth" 1574 <<
Reviewing a select few genealogically significant returns, these are mostly family files reporting also andassociation with Alice Bosworth, wife of Richard Hutchinson. Some, even many, report an undocumented association between the Bosworth and Bate farmiles.

There is no reference to the surname Bate (or Bachiler) in this article. Of Richard Hutchinson’s wife, Alice Bosworth, Stearns writes, "daughter of Joseph Bosworth of Holgrave.” Of Richard Hutchinson, Stears published an elaborate ancestral line said based on tradition. No reference or informant account was provided in support of the tradition (events some 300-500 years prior); the genealogical account was couched only by the statement, “There is, however, no documentary evidence to confirm such tradition.”
Stearns provided no reference for the Alice-Joseph connection, leaving open the question of whether this, too, was based on unnamed tradition.
Nevertheless, as above, neither the Bate nor Bachiler families are mentioned in this article.
