WikiTree X would be perfect if it added source citations for the sources within FamilySearch profiles.

Right now when you use the extension on a FamilySearch profile, it adds all the facts corresponding to the sources linked in the FS profile to the biography section on WikiTree, and adds a citation for the FS profile to the sources section of the WikiTree profile.  What needs to happen next is creating citations for those FS sources.  Because the extension doesn't do that, the profile manager needs to do it manually (or by clicking each individual source and using WIkiTree X on every one).  When the PM doesn't do this, others complain and often remove the list of facts WikiTree X imported.

...And I'll be the first to say it.  I HATE having to do it myself.  Hate hate hate it!  It consumes a lot of time when I am itching to get on to the next person on the list.  It's gotten to the point where I make sure the FamilySearch profile is as perfectly sourced as can be, so that people will be less confused on WikiTree when I link to one.  If WikiTree X ever gets the ability to include citations for each source when you use it on a FamilySearch profile, it will be a godsend.

So, Justin, have you considered adding this to the extension?  Is it in the works?  Is there a hurdle keeping it from happening that hasn't been solved yet?  I'm a huge fan of WikiTree X and would love to see it improve.  I have other suggestions too if you're interested.

We have considered it. I don't recall all the specifics at this moment, but I'm pretty sure it would be a bit of work both for the Chrome extension and for the WikiTree X page that merges the data into the profile.

Would it be possible to let us have a look at the code?  We might be able to suggest changes.
Rob, the code for the extension is here: https://github.com/york-solutions/wikitree-x-chrome

That's mostly just UI though. The main engine is here: https://github.com/rootsdev/genscrape

Sometimes I also feel too lazy to add the actual sources to a profile.  But I almost always do it anyway.  I appreciate this data scraper for what it is, use it daily, and work around its quirks.  For it to grab the resources too, when I currently have to open them myself in order to copy them--well, it might be useful; but then again, I frequently find sources attached to Family Search profiles which actually don't belong to that profile.  I might miss them if they were scraped with the other information.  Also, sources are in a different part of the profile.  Wikitree X scrapes the content on the main page of the profile.  So then you'd have to have it scrape that, open the sources tab, open the sources themselves, scrape them--sounds pretty cumbersome to me.
