I’m sure this will be an unpopular answer, but I truly hope we do NOT have a Facebook group, and here is why:
1. Mark Zuckerberg and his mgmt associates have proven themselves unscrupulous.
2. FB controls our content. If we post anything we care about there, the company owns that content, not users.
3. Dilution of knowledgebase - if we spread important info around multiple sites it makes it harder to find that info later, and dilutes the power of wikitree.
4. People are leaving Facebook in record numbers, and this trend is expected to continue. Young people are especially becoming increasingly disenchanted with Facebook.
I find these reasons compelling, and I hope wikitree site owners will carefully consider the negative implications of spreading wikitree resources and content to Facebook.
