need help finding more info on sutton ancestor living in nj and ny

Question

Looking for more info on my ancestor william a. Sutton. He was born in New Jersey in 1805 and married Amelia Chadwick and later lived in buffalo, ny. Have info that his father was nikolas sutton born in 1789, but not sure if correct. They had two kids Sylvester and Helen.

A Side Note for SUTTON: I am one of many Sutton’s who have researched this surname from NY to NJ. 1780-1880’s. FTDNA Sutton Project. Myself & one other Guy have researched Suttons over 30 years. Sutton by region & connecting surnames. There still is an absence of a minimum of 3 generation gap+. More male Sutton’s need to test please. Many Sutton’s married Dutch Girls. And those Dutch men married Sutton girls. Which leads to another surname spelling derivatives.  Sutfin, Von Sutphin etc. Aother clue are DAR & Rev. Soldiers with Land Grants.  Best of luck.
