How to edit birth name that is misspelled.?

Question

The last name for # 381 should be HERSHEY. I have father as Joseph and mother as Abigail Terrill or Tirrell Not yet posted.

To further muddy the waters, transcription of her birth record gives her name as Abigall Hearcy.

When editing a particular profile, if you are on the Trusted List, there should be an Edit link next to the existing Last Name at Birth. If you are not on the Trusted List, you can contact the profile manager to be added to the Trusted List, if desired, or to request the profile manager make the correction. It's probably a good idea to communicate via profile comment or private message in advance of making such a change and to share your source documentation in case there are conflicting sources.

Do you have a source which spells it as Hershey?  Might be an idea to contact the Profile Manager to tell her about it.  The FindaGrave memorial says Hersey.

a bit late but wanted to put an answer here...

name is (1) Abigail Hersey. (born 1724-Aug-2)

parents are Joseph Hersey (b.1697-Nov-09) and Abigail Nash (m 1719-Dec-17)

there is a cousin (2) Abigail Hersey (born 1724-Nov-5), daughter of William Hersey(1690) and Abigail Tirrell (1689) (m 1717-Nov-5)

so it seems like info from dad of (1) and mom of (2) and a famous chocolate name are getting mixed up.
