Is there a way to link to other information in the same profile?

For example If there is relevant information for something that you want to be able to quickly get to where the information is more deeply explained later on in the Bio.

Kind of like how the little link number when you use the reference tags will quickly take you to the bottom where you can see the source information.

Are reference tags the only way this can be done?

Or is there another way I can link to the info further down in the bio without having to actually add the information a second time within reference tags?

Yes, you can link from one note to another place in the bio (say a research note) and link back again.

I made a writeup of it here:

the <span> tag is another way... there is another post and some documentation on how to use that tag,,, I don't know where that is off the top of my head.

You can also link to section headings.  For example a link to the sources section would be #Sources

Generally if you have text1 and text2, change text1 to

<span id="t1">text1</span>

and change text2 to

<span id="t2">text2</span>

and they will cross-link to each other.  The # indicates which target to jump to and the id= creates the target.
