Why are project Google Groups being spammed with Family News? [closed]

I don't understand why the Google Groups for projects are now in the recipient list for the "WikiTree Family News" email.

Every member gets that email. Recently these started going out to the Google Groups as well. So for every project we are on we get another email.

WikiTree emails are manageable, but we don't need multiple copies of the same email.

Besides, none of the relative (ie. based on WT ID) links are useful.

Can we get the Google Groups removed from the recipient list for these please?

It is a setting you have to change on the projects settings page

Uncheck  Receive a weekly Family Activity Feed update.

Followed surnames (G2G) could also cause duplication if the project is following the same.

I have to change a setting?

Where do I find this setting?
Log into the profile. At the bottom of the My Mavigation Home page you can click on customize this page or on the drop down menu click on settings. To change the followed surname tags , on the profile page click on edit tags and tag comments
I think you all have made the assumption that I am a project manager. I am not.
Then you need to contact the relevant leaders of the project
Or how about since I posted this in G2G and it is a problem with multiple projects that a project coordinator works with the project leaders to fix the issue.
Which project are you having problems with?

Hi, Allison -

This is a choice made by project leaders on a project-by-project basis. So, if you don't think it's a beneficial feature for a project you're on, talk to the leaders of that project and see if they want to change it.

As Louis mentioned, they do have the ability to turn off that newsletter from the Project Account's settings page, but it has to be done by someone who has the login for the Project Account (i.e., project leaders or project coordinators).
