Clara Jeanetta Ann Holly Deason’s mother - Ella J Emmett

Question

Thank you for all your help on my Clara Jeanetta Ann (Holly) Deason post. I have come to a dead stop. I cannot find anything else on my great grandmother, Ella J Emmett. Nothing except her name and she married Joseph Holley. In the 1920 census, Joe and children move in with his brother. Am I to assume she died or just remarried? If she died, it was before 1920. If she died in 1917, I cannot find anything, nothing. Could she have been married to an unknown Emmett before she married Joseph? Could that be why she is listed as Ella J Emmett? If so, I cannot find anything on an Ella J Emmett. This is the dead end. I cannot find any information on who her parents were. Not sure, as my dna results show I have descendants may have immigrated from England. Could she have just left Joseph and remarried? Could she have Ben born in England? I called Montgomery County, Tn records and requested information there since she and Joseph were married there. I sent money, as requested, and received nothing. Polycistic Kidney disease runs rampant on my Deason side of the family. Walter Deason, Dudley was his Father, Clara Holley was his mother, Ella J (Holley, Emmett) was his grandmother... Joseph was also married to Mary Elizabeth Hassell, they had one child, Annie Elizabeth. Mary remarried a Howard and had a child. Joseph’s parents were Jonathan Holley and Jeanetta (Ragan) Ballard, who was previously married to Richard Ballard and they had a daughter Rebecca Emiline Ballard, Joseph’s step sister. John and Jeanetta had 4 children Lina, Annie and Nancy. I cannot find Ella Emmett Holley’s information in any ancestry tree. Not one. I was hoping, maybe, if anyone that sees this post would/could help me defeat this battle I feel I am losing. Is there any one up to accept a challenge and put the pieces of this unknown mystery together? I am in dire need and no where else to turn. Thanking everyone in advance. FIND-A-Grave - Ella J Emmett the 1917 is incorrect and not sure the birth date is correct.

Ella and Joseph were married in 1899. On the 1900 census listing them there are no Emmett's listed. There are, however, a lot of Baggetts. Since the only place I could find her name as Emmett was on her son Elby's death certificate, I think we can assume it's a typo or whoever wrote Emmett did not know or read a messy document?

I'll look for Ella Baggett.

Assuming the FAG is correct, searching 1880 census for Montgomery County Tennessee, (no 1890 census) there is only one EMMETT household.

Jeanetta (Ragan) (Ballard) Holley, mother to Joseph W Wesley who married Jonathan Holley was married to a Ballard. They had a daughter Emmaline Rebecca Ballard who married a Spann and a Baggett. Her daughter, Mary Jeanetta was a Baggett.
