Please PPP Mildred Weston White

Please PPP Mildred Weston White. Although she is repeatedly shown on the internet as the daughter of John and Cecily (Neville) Weston of the infamous Weston 1632 Pedigree Controversy, all reliable sources found to date have listed her parentage as unknown and she is not listed among their known children. I suspect this will be an ongoing problem.

Please hold off on this a few days.  This family is one of the more complicated and interesting problems in medieval genealogy.  The problem may not be that her ancestry isn't known but that her name is not Mildred.

Hahaha I love this family. They are the genealogical problem that *will not quit*. I may be dealing with them until I die. :D

Point me towards some sources Joe. Let’s do this. In case you missed it we have set up an independent page addressing the Weston 1632 Pedigree Controversy, so we are getting somewhere, at least when it comes to explaining the intricacies of the problems involved.
I missed the page, where can I find it?  We definitely need a place to organize sources, thoughts and theories.

I will contact you and send you some fun reading.  Anyone interested in reading about the royal descent of the White, Clarke, Terry and Walton families through Weston and Neville should contact me.  I believe this line to absolutely correct despite the fact it has been rejected by Richardson.  The arguments for and against make for a great genealogical puzzle.

You can find it here:

Chris Weston who heads the Weston One Name Study and I put it together this weekend. Please feel free to add or subtract as you feel fit. It is far from a finished product at this point and you are well more familiar with the issue than I.

We’ve been replacing the individual arguments on separate profiles with a standard blurb summarizing the issue and directing people to this page. You can find the blurb here:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Neville-1904

Please feel free to add it to any related pages in place of any current discussion taking place there.

Hi Joe,

I'd be interested in your additional reading too.

There's plenty more ground for Weston controversy, I fear.  Issues I'm aware of are: how the Westons of Sutton Place (e.g. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Weston-182) fit into the picture; and are the early American settlers descended from one of the very old Weston families.  But, it's good to have future things to work on.  I have at least, I believe, managed to show that the Westons of Mayfield are not an offshoot from the Surrey Westons, as shown in some 19th century pedigrees.  Oh, and the College of Arms has told me in no uncertain terms, that they regards the coat of arms used by the Westons in Cranbrook and Tenterden in the 18th and 19th centuries as wholly unauthorised.

Jo, by the way, has been a complete trooper with her clear and open-minded approach to the 1632 genealogy.

Regards,

Chris.
Credit for the majority of the genealogy work I've put up there goes to Joe. I've merely been summarizing it.
Hello, I am a descendant of the TERRY Name, through my Great Grandfather , U.S.Capt and Engr. Bertie Terry, and am interested to know the truth of our lineage (we are descendants of Mary White married to   Rev. John Terry, son of Mildred Weston White,  daughter of Cecilia Neville.-data that was provided by familysearch.org ) when I keyed-in my great grandfather's data)

I'ld be happy to learn more about this. Please contact me, thanks and

God bless your work.

Hi Jo,

I have taken the liberty of mentioning you, together with the handful of other genealogists who I am aware are doing great things for the Weston one name study at the foot of the study page.  You might want to take a look and make sure you're happy with what I've said.

Regards,

Chris

Thanks Chris!
