The Grey, de Grey family was a large and powerful family with masive holdings of land (well massive for medievel England) A branch of the Greys owned Astley Castle in Warwickshire, which was gutted by fire.

Now see how it has been reborn....I wonder what our ancestors would have thought.

I visited it in September during the heritage open weekend, loved it!

So impressive with the mixture of heritage and design, you never feel your out of the castle, but you know your in a luxourous beautifuly designed modern building.

now looking to book a holiday there in a few years time when it could be available next.
