Collaboration and Merging

As far as merging goes......I know it says to merge any time you see a profile that is duplicated.  However, what do you do when there are two profiles that are more than obviously the same person , someone proposes a merge , and then the profile managers reject it?   What can be done without causing friction, to set the two profiles up again to be merged?  What happens when it is rejected again?  Is there another step beyond this to ensure it gets merged?   How do you collaborate peacefully when a manager of a profile is incorrect and won't acknowledge other people's comments regarding the inaccurate or duplicated profile?  I guess my ultimate, bottom line question is if I go ahead and try to merge them again, then what can I do when the merge is either undone or the merge is ignored?

Hi Katie,

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Merging#Profile_Managers_who_refuse_to_merge

There are outlined actions to take:

  • If they still refuse to collaborate, or
  • If they just won't respond.
