Connection between Australia and USA - on John Thomas Steele

John Thomas Steele was the eleventh child of Joseph and Ann Steele.  He was born on 9 June 1831 and was baptised at Sorell on 3 Feb 1832 Australia.  On 29 May 1860, at the house of JT Steele, by the rites of the Congregational Church, John Thomas Steele married Caroline Elizabeth Rogers, daughter of Alexander Rogers and Emily (born Mall) Caroline was born in Birmingham, England on 22 December 1842.

Caroline Elizabeth Rogers came to Tasmania in 1855, free passage per the "Fortune".

John and Caroline Steele had 10 children
