Who was the wife of Robert Pond?

This man married once, but we have him attached to several different Mary's. The narrative, without source, says he  married Mary Ball and gives her parents. Another duplicate is an Unknown. Another claims she was Mary Margaret Hakins.

I posted a comment on the profile last July and have received no answer from the PMs.

What will it take to resolve this?

Thanks.

From Torrey:

POND, Robert1 (-1637) & Mary ____, m/2 Edward SHEPARD; by 1631?; Dorchester {Blake-Torrey 42; Pond 12; Reg. 7:30, 32:323}

POND, Robert (-1660/3) & Mary [BALL]/BULL? (-1719), m/2 Nicholas ELLEN 1663, m/3 Daniel HENSHAW by 1671; by 1651, by 1657; Milton/Dorchester {Milton Hist. 23; Blake-Torrey 43; Pond 6; Clapp 97; Reg. 12:345, 19:36}

Nothing about Hakin?

Blake-Torrey: Gendrot, Almira (Torrey) (Blake) (Fenno), The Ancestry and Allied Families of Nathan Blake 3rd and Susan (Torrey) Blake: Early Residents of East Corinth, Vermont (Boston: privately printed, 1916)

Pond: Harris, Edward Doubleday, A Genealogical Record of Daniel Pond and His Descendants (Boston: W. P. Lunt, 1873)

Reg: is the NEHGR

NEHGR 12:345 is about Robert Pond's will. Mary, his widow. No surname.

NEHGR 19:36 is about the will of Nicholas Ellin, which mentions his wife Mary, and a couple of her Pond daughters-- i.e., so Mary, wife of Pond,m2 Nicholas Ellin. Nothing about her maiden name.

History of Milton, p 23, is about Nicholas Ellen/Ellin; mentions that his wife was widow of Robert Pond.

Blake-Torrey genealogy, pp 42-43 has a short bio of Robert Pond; nothing about her origins or maiden name; says she subsequently married Edward Shepard.

The Pond genealogy, if accurate (published 1873) would seem to suggest that we have conflated two generations--that there was a Robert Pond, immigrant, who died in 1637 [error; subsequently proven to be about 1647] (wife Mary m2 Edward Shepard), and that Robert and Mary had a SON named Robert Pond of Milton (made freeman 1642) who married Mary Ball (and that it was she who m2 Nicholas Ellin). This son Robert died btw 1660 and 1663.

The Clapp genealogy is about Robert and Mary's daughter who married a Clapp. There is nothing about Mary's origins.

I have checked the other sources from Torrey for the first listed Robert Pond and there is nothing about her origins.

And oh dear g.... the Ball profiles are a mess. I started to work on Mary Ball, supposed daughter of William Ball and supposed wife of one of the Robert Ponds, and that gets into an absolute nightmare.

I've started re-proposing merges into UNKNOWN-86129 for Mary, wife of Robert Pond, as there is simply nothing out there to support any maiden names of her.

Sounds right to me
