Looking for info on John Smedley Baird of Australia, born 1874, died 1933.

John Smedley Baird is my maternal great grand father. I am trying to locate his parents.

has his parents as Thomas and Mary Ann. You'll probably need a certificate for this. I believe there are a couple of good transcription services for NSW certificates which are cheaper:

Have a look at Familysearch.org for John Smedley  Baird Reference # K2J4-ZDT. He was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1874 and died in 1933 in Cessnock, New South Wales, Australia

His wife was Mary Ellora Mcewan who was born in 1879 on the Bay of Biscay, At Sea & died in 1940 at Cessnock, New South Wales, Australia. They had seven children.

It would appear that his father was Thomas Furnis Baird 1841 Sydney, New South Wales, Australia  - 25 April 1878 Woolloomooloo, New South Wales Australia

Mother was Mary Ann Smedley 7 August 1846, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia - 6 June 1880 Woolloomooloo, New South Wales Australia. They had three children including John Smedley Baird
