After you fill out Deceased ancestor's name, birth place and whether the search is with a relative etc you click on Search and a listing of possiblities come up.Then you click on the one that looks like it fits to what you know and a different page comes up with more details.

On the botton of it there is something like this:

CITING THIS RECORD

"United States Public Records, 1970-2009," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QJCR-3BNY : 23 May 2014), Dorothy Barry, Residence, Danbury, Connecticut, United States; a third party aggregator of publicly available information.

Just cut and paste Citing this record and the rest onto the source section of WikiTree.

*CITING THIS RECORD "United States Public Records, 1970-2009," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QJCR-3BNY : 23 May 2014), Dorothy Barry, Residence, Danbury, Connecticut, United States; a third party aggregator of publicly available information.

Then another person looking at your profile and sources section will be able to click on the URL which is in this case:  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QJCR-3BNY and see the information that is contained there.

Thanx, I'll have to practice.

"fill out Deceased ancestor's name, birth place and weather"

It was a dark and stormy night! <g>

lol, well Dave, to that person's spouse or another relative, it could have been. ( I always get weather and whether mixed up.)
Thank you Eric W. for selecting my answer!!

Don't see where to vote best answer?

This is the simplest explanation I've seen. Why did it take so long for someone to say "copy and paste"? That I can do.

This was picked best answer twice, once by Eric W and once by Mary Cole. It keeps disappearing.

I keep acknowelging that it was indeed picked by making a comment to them both as follows:

Thank you Eric W. for selecting my answer!!

*I have the emails "Your WikiTree G2G answer has been selected!"  So I reselected it for the third time myself.

Thanks Natie for selecting this answer again today..2 hours ago... according to the notification email.

Well I've been searching for a place to store Q and A's for future reference.  I read that if you pick one as best, it will show up in your favorites.  So I went back to find a few and chose them again.  But they are not showing up in my favorites.

By the way.  Yours was a useful, clear and simple answer!

Actually, this is not quite right. If you are viewing an image, click on the information tab at the bottom of the screen, and continue to scroll down through the text to a button labeled "copy citation". Click on it. This copies the citation to the clipboard. You can then paste it anywhere you need to.
