Orangeburgh District, South Carolina Tyler info from Christine Kelley and based upon information at:

http://news.rootsweb.com/th/read/ORANGEBURGH_SC/2008-02/1203566668

William Young was born about 1695 in Scotland, and died before 1752 in Orangeburgh District, SC. After William died, his widow, Rebecca, married Christian Minnick or Minnich.

William and Rebecca Young lived on Young's Island on the Edisto River and had the following known children;

  1. Mary Young married Luke Patrick before 1750.
  2. Rebecca Young married Christian Myers on April 12, 1738 Orangeburgh, SC.
  3. Sarah Young married William Heart (Hart) on Oct 3, 1750 Orangeburgh, SC.
  4. William Young married Mary Linder on July 2, 1752 Orangeburgh, SC.
  5. Henry Young married Anne Hill on April 29, 1754, Orangeburgh, S.C. and were the parents of  Elizabeth
  6. Elizabeth Young born about 1757. She wed William Tyler had the following known children:

6  i 1. Henry Tyler was born about 1776, and died before 1813. His widow married 2nd

William Riley before 1815.

6  i 2. William Tyler Jr. was born Oct. 24, 1780, died Aug. 16, 1842. Orangeburg, SC. (confirmed by Mrs. Kelley)

6  i 3. Thomas Tyler was born about 1785, died Jan. 3, 1840 Montgomery Co., Ms.

6  i 4. Elizabeth Tyler was born about 1786, married John Sanford or Stanford.

6  i 5. Ann Tyler was born about 1787, married James Simmons.

6  i 6. Elisha Tyler was born April 4, 1794, died June 3, 1851 Orangeburg, SC.

After Elizabeth died, William Tyler Sr. married unknown (probably Ann Carter) and had;

6  i 7. Absolom Tyler

After William Tyler, Sr.'s death about 1826, his widow married George Pooser. They had a lawsuit against Thomas Tyler, executor of William's estate. William had been given some property by his wife's grandmother, Mrs. Minnick, which he divided among his children by Elizabeth. In the settlement, the children were allowed to keep the property given them by their father, but Thomas was ordered to pay George Pooser, in right of his wife, $2,462.21 as her distributive share of her late husband's estate, and also to pay George Pooser, as guardian of Absolom Tyler, $1,434.73 as his share.

I also believe there are additional corrections needed to this family group.
