I have found some evidence that suggests or may even prove Dorothy Brown was never the wife of John Sprague II.  Infact he has an undocumented wife and additional children, I think Dorothy who was the daughter of Dorothy Greene and Ephraim Brown married Ebenezer Lawrence.

Yes but this is most likely the record for Deacon John, his father and Dorothy (Green) Brown who 1st married Ephraim Brown and they produced and daughter Dorothy Brown who is the supposed wife of John II. I believe this Dorthy Brown married Ebenezer Lawrence they are both logged in that image. Please examnine the whole image  [https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-997M-R99T-G?i=84&wc=Q4D7-44D%3A353350601%2C353872501%2C353872502%3Fcc%3D2061550&cc=2061550]
