Was his full name Walter Benjamin Wagner Tarr, who died in 1940 in New South Wales, Australia?  If so, I have more details, including Coroner's Inquest.  If not, apologies.

Hi John!  I found on www.ancestry.com a note that there was a record in New South Wales, Australia, Registers of Coroners' Inquests, 1796-1942, under the name of Walter Benjamin Tarr.  At the moment, since I do not have a worldwide subscription to Ancestry, I cannot see the record itself.  I shall try later today to access the record in our County Library and see what it contains.  I expect it is a summary of the Inquest itself, but it is unlikely to contain the whole inquest report itself.  For that you are likely to have to contact the New South Wales Government site at www.records.nsw.gov.au .  I will let you know as soon as I see the Ancestry record.  Best regards, Paul R Hynd
