Why on my profile it indicates that there is no biography information but yet I have entered a paragraph and it is displayed.

Sources: Is there a better way to put second hand information rather than using the ' ' brackets. technically gets confusing trying to figure out those brackets with http address or what ever..I did manage to do it but those who are not techincally computer savy must be a nightmare..

Delete the text that says it's empty.

[[]] does not mean secondary source to everyone.  Better to just spell out where the info came from.

huh! but when I asked HELP, it tells me to use the brackets for entering second hand source.

Second-Hand Information

Often genealogical information is related from other family members.

It's a good idea to include who said certain information, and if you remember, when they said it. You may also want to include a link to the person's WikiTree profile page.

For example, this:

* Edward Whitten related the story about his childhood to Chris Whitten on Christmas Day 1979.

Creates this link:

You can also add numbered footnotes inside the text of a biography.

John, I can understand your confusion, but the second had information and the are two different things.

"It's a good idea to include who said certain information, and if you remember, when they said it."
In the example given, it could just as easily say -- Edward Whitten related the story about his childhood to Chris Whitten on Christmas Day 1979.

It then says: "You may also want to include a link to the person's WikiTree profile page."

The double bracket   creates the link to the profile of whoever said the information. Use-- double bracket wikitree-ID bar name double unbracket. Examples  Chris Whitten or Anne B or John Nash
