Why can't I find how many steps removed I am from Chris Whitten?

I seem to be 38 degrees removed from A.J. Jacobs, 33 degrees from her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, [etc.] but it seems that no connection between our beloved CEO Whitten-1 and myself can be found ...: "Sorry, no connection was found between Chris and Philip out to 10 steps. There is one, it's just not on WikiTree yet. Please help grow the family connections of Chris and Philip until they meet."

How do I search for a connection beyond 10 steps but in less than 100 ...? How can I help the family connections grow until we meet ... :-)?

I think your question is rhetorical, but to be clear: There are only five "anchor" people where we can check connections out to 100 steps. They are currently AJ Jacobs, Kevin Bacon, Queen Elizabeth II, JK Rowling, and Nikola Tesla (the last two by merit of being the feature of the two most recent Connection Combat games).

I wish we could go more than 10 steps for others but we haven't figured out an efficient way to do it. It's really resource-intensive. The 100 for the five people are actually recounted once every day -- for everyone -- and stored in a database.
