I adopted this profile today, as she is the same person as Arrington-421. This surname was posted as Harrington in error. Do we correct and then merge, or can you "delete" the profile? Thank you

I proposed a merge for the two profiles.  Check on the bottom-left corner of either profile and you will see the merge waiting for action.  Begin by choosing compare and then the rest will be up to you.  Take care to make sure the product of the merge has the LNAB (last name at birth) that is correct.  That is how incorrect profiles get disappeared on the Wikitree.  Good luck!

Once a profile has been created, it is next to impossible to delete it.  If it can be merged, then that is preferred.  If both profiles are actively managed then the profile managers should discuss what the final profile should look like and which profile should be the final remaining profile.  Other than the Last Name at Birth, which is the Wikitree-ID, any of the data can be altered before or after. That is more of a matter of strategy that can be worked out between the profile managers.
