My maternal GM was a Hilda Dorothy Jane HENSLER [+ variations], whose aunt Margaret HENSLER (1867-1931) married a William Telford PHIPPS (1871-1834), in 1900.
Margaret was from the Goondiwindi area, and her niece Elizabeth HENSLER married a Frederick CROWDY in Toowoomba in 1876. Following Fredericks death in 1885, a child "Annie" was subsequently born to Elisabeth CROWDY (nee HENSLER), 14 Mar 1888. No father was nominated for this child.
A death was recorded 26 Apr 1866 [1899/001589] of an Ann Eliza PHIPPS, with father noted as "William Hawkins", mother as Eliza Houten*.
I am currently looking at the possibility that Ann(Annie) might have been raised/adopted by Margaret PHIPPS, and that the Ann Eliza PHIPPS might this be the infant daughter of Elizabeth CROWDY (nee HENSLER).
