Does anyone know what HUNT is short for on Victoria, Australia bdm index?

The birth would possibly be around what is now known as Bendigo, as the other sibling births around the time I have been able to ascertain are Eaglehawk (EAG) and California Gully (CALIF GULL)

I however do not know what HUNT is referring to for place of birth.

Most likely Huntly, which is a suburb of Bendigo.
Thank you @Melanie Paul.

I have lived in Victoria almost my entire life.

According to

Hunt was an abbreviation for both Huntingdale and Huntly. It's ambiguous. But as Melanie points out above, Huntly is in Bendigo, whereas Huntingdale is in Melbourne.
