Abby Glann's 10 Years on the WikiTree Team

Hi WikiTreers,

Last year I announced that Paul Bech and Eowyn Walker have been WikiTree Team members for 10 years.

I love our team. This group is amazingly loyal to our community and dedicated to our mission. So much so that we now have another member of the 10-year club: Abby (Brown) Glann.

Abby

Abby joined WikiTree 13 years ago and quickly became a leading member. But if you don't know her name, don't feel bad. We took to calling her our "Wood Owl" because she's seldom seen or heard, even though she's close by. (She's also one of the wisest people I know. An old soul, as they say. I often rely on her for a calm, measured perspective on contentious issues.)

If you do know her, it's probably because:

  1. You've emailed info@wikitree.com with an account problem or question that can't be asked publicly here in G2G. Abby handles the vast majority of these, and has done so for many years. Or,
  2. You enjoy our weekly connection themes, like this week's National Parks feature. Abby leads the collaboration on these every single week — a huge job in itself.

If you know her well, I'm sure you will agree that she is very smart, kind, and hard working.

I'd call her hard working even if WikiTree was the only thing she did. Somehow she has time to care for her large family, including homeschooling her beautiful children, she tends to the small family farm, and works part-time as a librarian. I don't know how she does it.

Thank you, Abby!

Chris

Abby:

The words "thank you" do not seem strong enough. Your work for WikiTree is inspiring. You have really made a difference in shaping WikiTree and making it what it is today. Your contributions have helped to form and shape a site that made us want to join in the first place. Your support for others have helped to keep us coming back and continue to contribute. Your work ethic and values are embedded in the organization we know and appreciate. Congratulations.
