Did a gedcom cleanup on John Stanley Sr. Its likely that the two Mary's (linked as spouses) are a duplication. The Find A Grave entries don't have an image - so can't be used as a primary source. Needs supporting sources. Will see what I can find/clean up.

I have a question. You created Comfort-702 (Mary Mure Comfort Stanley), and then orphaned her. Was the Find A Grave entry the only source you have to prove her connection to John Stanley Sr.? The entries don't have headstones and the bios (though written by the husband of a family member) are without sources.  I sent off a message to the husband who wrote them. Have not heard back yet.

Would recommend you read my research notes on John Stanley Sr. (Stanley-2047). Unless you have a reliable source I would say that the marriage is questionable. Even Mary's name/existence is questionable, at least to me, as I see no reliable source to back it up. Records are not easily found but the most complete genealogical study on this family was done by Judy Stanley Caldwell in 1999. I included this source on Stanley-2047 with an internet link to the manuscript.

Just an update, in case your following? I have done a cleanup. Turns out neither of the "Mary" spouses belonged to John Stanley Sr. One was the dau. of Elijah Stanley, she actually married William Gallimore. And the other has turned out to be very much an Uncertain Existence profile. Marvin Lander's research on the subject contained some conjecture on what the name of Alfred Muir Stanley's mother could be. And I guess it was taken as fact, used to produce a profile for her on Find A Grave etc....and the internet now is full of this misinformation...and still spreading. As far as I can see John Stanley Sr. may have had a second wife, however her name is not known. No children have been proven with this supposed second wife. Have done my best to lay out the evidence for it all!
