First of all I am so pleased to have found this site and already had help regarding this ship. My follow up question came about after related questions asked of the National library of Australia, and they were very helpful. They pointed me to the following: Colonial secretary's letter regarding the death of Louisa Mare. Index number 106,E commerce Category G, start date 01/01/1857, end date 01/01/1857,Citation [4/3361] letter no 57/2966. I'm going round in circles on the website. Can anyone assist. If I need to pay to view this file, can anyone tell me how please.

Alan,

I've not ever purchased a copy of a document there, but if you look at the page, Where it say INDEX , on the right hand side of that is a small shopping trolley, (after the little icons of facebook, twitter, reading room), if you click on that it gives an option to purchase a hard copy of digital copy for $25. Then you can add your purchse to the cart.

Does that buy a copy of the letter, or the page in the index that refers to the letter?
Good question...

Alan could always ask an Archivist

They have a link at the bottom of this page - https://mhnsw.au/collections/state-archives-collection/ask-an-archivist/
