Was he a 're-incarnation' of his father?

Was he a 're-incarnation' of his father must have been a question asked by many in the community when William Guildford Allen received a knighthood in 1981.  His similarly-named father had been knighted eight years previously but had passed away in the meantime.  William's (junior) wife and (step) mother were thereby both entitled as Lady Allen, and remained so for 18 years.  How confusing?

It's been fun creating and building profiles for the extended family, going back four generations.  In fact, William senior's parents were first cousins, their fathers being brothers.  Any Allen family WikiTreers want to take the family further?

I love WikiTree. You never know what exciting discovery is around the corner.
