Should parents be added?

While there are a couple of "peerage" books that indicate the parents, the entire lineage is suspect due to a lack of primary sources and proven dates.   Just wondering if others believe the sources are sufficient to add parents to this profile.

I cannot answer your question but there is the Will of Thomas Onslowe Grocer of London (one of the sons of Edward) available on the National Archives website.  Thomas mentions his children and also his brother William, his son Arthur and his other children; brother Humfrey and his son Edward; and also 'Fowlke Onslowe son to Roger Onslowe my brother deceased'.

Plus there are a lot of references on both the National Archives and the Shropshire Record Office websites - a search of O*slo* seems to cover all the spelling variations.

PCC wills like this one will generally also be available to Ancestry.com subscribers. Search first via their catalogue for the word prerogative.

(info below derived from.Notes to the transcript  of the Will of Sir Robert Corbet 1509 (TNA 11/17/471 accessible on pdf via http://www.oxford-shakespeare.com/documents.html )

The Visitation of Salop 1623 vol 2 p 378,  https://archive.org/details/visitationshrop01grazgoog  has Edward  husband of Ann Haughton as a son of Robert Onneslow and Katherine Corbet  (pedigree includes Edward's children)

But  pt 1 of same visitation in the Gregory of Rodington pedigree  records "Couenants of Marriage that George Oneslow gentelman shall marry Katherin one of the sifters of S' Robert Corbett Knight. Dated 19 Junij a^ 28 H. 7. " https://archive.org/details/visitationshrop02britgoog

Edited many typos!

Shropshire Archives holds the following:

'Document Ref: 6000/4423; date 1503; This indenture made June 19th 23 Hen VI. Between (1) Sir Robert Corbet; (2) George Onneslowe, gent.  For a marriage between Onslow and Katherine sister of Sir Robert. - covenant by Onslow to enfeoff certain trustees (named) in certain lands worth 10 etc and by Corbet to pay 40 and to bear all expenses of the marriage and of his sister's wedding gown'.

This is in the 'Onslowe papers' and part of the 'Tayleur family-Box E' collection.
