Our first month with the revamped Global Project has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride (and I do love rollercoasters!). But things are falling into place nicely. After just 31 days, we now have now have 8 newly opened country projects with coordinators assigned. We also have 21 additional country pages created and ready for member sign ups with more being added every week.
If you haven't visited our Global Project country pages yet, I would highly recommend you take a few moments to hop on over and take a look. Each country's page (actually four pages per country) is full of information on the nation's history, ethnicities, languages, religions, naming practices, notables (past and present), resources for doing research and more. You do not have to be a project member to access this information.
If you would like to become a member of any of our country projects, you can simply drop us a note here. Coordinators are also needed, so if that's of interest to you, please send me a private email.
Here is a list of the newly opened country projects and their team coordinators:
Andorra - Mark Lemen
Armenia - Staci Golladay
Greece - Mark Lemen
Luxembourg - Eric Weddington
Papua New Guinea - Darren Kellett
Poland - Skye Sonczalla
Singapore - Darren Kellett
Taiwan - Betsy Ko
In addition: Chris Faraillo has taken the helm of the previously established Italy Project and Darren Kellett will soon be opening individual projects for eleven Pacific Island nations - often referred to as the islands of Oceania.
Also: The Barbados, Belgium, Ethiopia, Israel, and Saudi Arabia projects each have new members, but no coordinators yet.
And of course, don't forget about our 23 established Top-Level Country Projects which continue to operate independent of the Global Project.
