Afraid I'm in over my head with this one.  I was surprised he didn't have a profile, so created one, but am not good at in-line citations.  Can someone please look at him and clean it up a bit? He could use appropriate stickers: Civil War, Maine, Notable?  Thanks for any help!

Hi

Added the Civil War Sticker and categories and some bio updates with sources. Can be improved upon. It appears rank often was Colonel and prior to that was a Brigadier General?

Hope this helps

Thank you, Andrew! Apparently he was brevetted first as colonel, then after the war as brigadier general. His association with Chamberlain and the 20th Maine, as well as his postwar government position, prompted me to at least start a profile for him. -Donna
Your welcome

Maybe some of the civil war group members can add more and improve upon. I did add a few newsclips which are very informative one has a great photo of him.

The 20th Maine is so historic!
