I have a suggestion for the new profile input page

When creating a new profile, I use the Sourcer to grab sources and narratives from FS. I paste them in the Bio section, where they belong because they are INLINE citations.

No matter if I have put 25 inline citations in the bio, the form won't let me proceed until I paste something into the sources section.

Why can't the code check for inline sources in the bio?

I think this may be partly my fault.  I'm guessing that you're using the WBE 'Add Person Redesign' feature, which gives you a 'Biography' box and a 'Sources' box as we used to have (only the 'Biography' box was labelled 'Notes').  The system accepts input from this box, but it's not checking for inline citations in there.  Without the Add Person Redesign, you can either put a source in the box at the end of the flow or use the Advanced option, which lets you paste your narrative under a 'Biography' heading like you would on an edit page. The Add Person Redesign is kind of rolling back the changes that were made by the tech team not so long ago, but it's not perfect as the system is now not looking for inline citations in the old notes box, as it doesn't really expect the old notes box to be submitted (although it does accept it).  I hope that made some sense.  Having said that, I also hope the tech team will change the code a little to look for inline citations in the Biography/Notes box.

Odd.  They always work for me.  I rarely put anything in the Sources box, because I have already put something in the Notes box (example: a little paragraph about the birth being registered, plus its source).
Really?  I was pretty sure that that wouldn't work (and it seems to be the problem that Laura is talking about), but I'll go and take another look (soon).
Thank you, Ian. I'm running WBE, the BEE and Sourcer.
