What does AC mean in Abstract of Deed Books, VA, c.1700s?

Does anyone know what "AC" means after the names in the following record from Abstract of Deed Book E, 1775-1785, Amherst County, Virginia by Bailey Fulton Davis? It occurs after the names in many records. Possibly represented by an attorney? Also, has anyone else seen the name, Sarey, before? Or maybe a nickname?

  • Benj. Carpenter & ux, Sarey, AC, to Jos. Littrell, L40 70a br.of Short ck. and joining Littrell.

Thanks for any help.

It may be nothing more than an abbreviation for "Amherst County" given that's where the deed was recorded.

Sarey was a common pronunciation of Sarah.
