Hi Wikitreers,

As I was researching a veteran of the civil war of the 106th New York a veteran named John D. Miles. I came across this grave of such a unique name and thought to add her to g2g discussion. The gravestone is barely legible but an odd word attached says “Lonely”? I’m curious what the wording says on her stone. Also it appears she had a child named ”America” as well that “died young”? She was married to a John D. Miles.

It appears Kentucky origins here but maybe she has a Wikitree profile that I didn’t notice?

I would be interested to know her genealogy

Thank you

America Harley Miles appears to have had 13 children with John Dudley Miles.  America Arteminnie Miles died at 3.  An unnamed infant may have died in childbirth.  The other 11 survived into adulthood.

Is it a coincidence that this week I found about 20 women named "America" in Kentucky whilst researching mystery DNA Matches of my husband Hill-44668.

Surnames: Autry, Barger, Burns, Carmack, Couch, Hamblin, Miller, Pace, Roberts, Sizemore, Smith, Spurlock and Woods.

The ancestor names that come up with many matches via my research that led to these "America's" is Kuykendal and Bowling/Boling/Bolean.

Just thought I would share the coincidence.  Still trying to find out how there is a link between Australia and the United States.   I am hoping it is a way to break a brick wall.
