NO Babies born in Győr after 1895??

Hello good people,

I am searching for birth records for the city of Győr. FamilySearch only has records up to 1895 and I am looking for 1910-1920 could anyone give a suggestion on which archive would have such records? Maybe they are even online?? Thanks for your time!

FS's record-conservation contract for the Hungarian church records ended strictly with the start of civil registration (1 Oct 1895), and the city's civil registers were AWOL when that filming/scanning occurred.

If the people you're looking for were Roman Catholic, then the diocesan archive (https://matricula.hu/gyel) offers e-research, for a fee.

If they were Lutheran, then once Őskereső figures out a solution to its ransomware problem, I believe they will have records from Győr (for a fee).

As far as I know, the civil registers that aren't on FS are only available in person. They're certainly not online anywhere.

It is my impression that the originals should still be at the registry office, while the archive copies should be at the county archives. It looks like the county has a main archive in Győr (Liszt Ferenc u. 13) and a satellite archive in Mosonmagyaróvár. As far as I can tell, the civil register copies are in Győr (Fondjegyzék - XXXIII - 1) .
