The Holocaust Project is seeking new members wanting to help us with our goals!

Some of our goals are to add, connect, and honor victims and survivors.

If you are a WikiTree member, have signed the Honor Code, and would like to join us, please:

Click "Answer" below and let us know what regions and topics you are most interested in (i.e., the Netherlands, or Kindertransport, etc) And do let us know if you read or speak languages other than English.

Do you want to help, but you can't commit to regular activity? Instead of joining, you can follow the holocaust tag and watch for posts from us asking for help on specific tasks and projects.

Alexander Family, Berlin, Holocaust.

I'm trying to find my Grandfather's (Martin Alexander) family. He was in camp with his two brothers (Kurt and Hans). Kurt died in camp and Hans was send to another camp and never saw him again. His Mother (Paula, died at camp) and his wife (Ruth) and sister (Ann), he never heard from again. I searched only websites and can not find them anywhere.

Oh thank you so much! That's definitely a neglected area :-) PM me if you have any questions! There are a lot of project box issues.... I'm trying to remove Holocaust as PM for most of them, that happened back when the Project was trying to manage every single profile, which isn't really possible. Now we manage notables. But I don't like abandoning the profiles until they look half-decent, or at least have maintenance categories on them.... so there are still alot out there!
And I just gave you the badge & sent you a message :-)
Thank you!

I would love to join the project and help in any way I can. My husband has good friends who work at the Holocaust Museum and can get any helpful information needed to help this project.

Hi Elaine, i am interested in joining the project! Currently, i live in France, where i am pursuing a philosophy degree. I’ve been interest in the history of the holocaust since childhood, so i’d love to bring some kind of awareness and justice to this horrible mark on humanity’s history. I have easy access to the memorial de la Shoah, in Paris. I can speak fluently english, french and portuguese. During this summer, i am completely available, so if travels for research are needed, i’m open to it! I know the jewish community of Rome also have lots of information and registers. Regarding roles in the project, i am open to perform research, institutional communication, assistance to you or what else needed for the success of the project! If my profile interests you, please, let me know so we can sort it out.

Kind Regards,

Isabella

I'm definitely interested in joining. I only speak English. I have both Jewish heritage myself as well as non-Jewish heritage located in some parts of the world that may be connected.

I'd be especially interested in German, Swiss, and Russian records, and records with the family names Gordon, Rothschild, Goldblatt, Mendelso(h)n, Buchman(n), Schoch, and Marver, as that's where my own family connections lie; that being said, however, I'm up for doing work outside of those areas as well.

I responded to this post a few days ago and filled in source information for Ilda Zamorani and her husband Alessandro Colombo.  I logged out and when I went back into the files all information I added was missing.  Could someone check and let me know if it’s ok for me to continue working on these files, I may have done something incorrect, and may I proceed.  Also, I saved the new information and sources as I proceeded.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Darlene- I opened the edit apge of Ilda's profile and saw you had a draft, so I did a "full save". I'm not sure how long the drafts stay in the WT system, maybe a few days) Anyway, you are good to keep going, thanks so much! You can likely cite the USC information from the Ancestry ... you can write your own citation or use Wikitree's Sourcer extension, it works great for Ancestry.ca records. WikiTree Sourcer

I would like to join the project.  I am interested in the Jewish community in London, some of which were victims.  I am a member of the England team and the Team Leader for London.  I enjoyed the webinar yesterday about the Auschwitz 2025 project and found it very useful.

I will "follow" this project at this time. I wonder if this might be of any help: https://allisrael.com/yad-vashem-uses-ai-technology-to-identify-names-holocaust-victims  (from Israel).
