Jo,

I have not found records that says Lafayette served in all of those companies.  I only found records for Camp of Instruction, Talladega. Found him in that company at both NPS and Fold3.

There is a group of miscellaneous images that the title includes 3 or 4 companies. But in the records, Lafayette Bice only appears in the Camp of Instruction. He did not have cards for the other companies.  Same with the other soldiers in that group. I found they had a card (or cards) in one company, but not all the others.

In that group of images, I found Lafaytte Bice, W Bice and G Bice in Camp of Instruction. I did not see any of them listed in the other companies in that group.

I think its incorrect to assume each soldier in that cluster of images served in all of the companies named for that cluster. I think it was just a hodge pot of misc. images that did not fit anywhere else, so someone put them all together in a group and called it the 3 or 4 companies names.

I say 3 or 4 because I am still trying to figure out if Talldega Guards was the same company as Guards at Camp of Instruction, Talladega.

Jo,

The website, Alabama, Civil War Regimental Histories and Rosters, list all four of those as separate companies.

Alabama Regimental Histories and Rosters

I found one more site with information about Leighton's Rangers. Still not history of the group. But it says there were 43 men in the regiment.

Jo,

Welcome to the Bice family rabbit hole!  Looks like you fell into it also.

It is a interesting family. So many POWs on both sides.

The joke passed on to me was: The Bice family had a hat with 6 names. Whenever anyone had a son, they pulled one of those names out of the hat.
I have a Bice heartburn
His app for Indigent Soldier pension has a description of his service where he mentions Iron works, instruction camp, and train duties - whatever that is. I'll edit his bio ... again.
Thanks Jo.

Jo,

If there is only 43 in that regiment.  After this month's Civil War challenge is over, we should do that regiment. Between us, we could knock out 43 profiles.

Jo,

I did not see any Bice in the regiment.  So, we should work it. You start at one end and I'll start at the other. Meet you in the middle. We could do that entire little regiment.
43 in the regiment - Piece of Cake - I did Cypress Grove Cemetery with 115 interments. [https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Cypress_Grove_Cemetery_No._2 Cypress Grove]
Jo,

Do you want to set up a Space Page for this regiment similar to the one for Cypress Grove No 2?
Yes to a Space Page.  It keeps us organized and I like having all the profiles in one place, and grouping profiles is more effective than a single profile.

I'm in the middle of a Higdon project, but I can start it in a few days ... or ... if you have the time you could start it.
Jo,

I'll wait for you. I don't know how to create a Space Page. Yes, I think it is a good idea. It does help keep things organized during the process.
Our Space Page has been created !

The title is rather long, but I didn't want to shorten it because that can lead to confusion.

Now we have to add a description of the unit and a list of members.

I'm  sending you a private message for your email address so you can edit the Space Page.
