I have looked everywhere even wikitree+ for the "USO" one of the best known organizations of America.. This is where I would think it would be but it is not there..Do we have it some place? Category: United States Military Support Organizations

----- replied:I would start on G2G and make sure there is a clear support for the category. It's better to start a conversation with the Categorization Project and other advanced members than trying to do things alone. What is you proposal, is it going to only be employees of the organization, or would you include volunteers? The only 2 categories under Military Support Organizations right now are Gold Star Wives and Gold Star Mothers.

I know but I would think it would be a great way for people, Volunteers, employees and yes even Service men to "make a Memory" and maybe "meet" people that they met back in the day. USO was/is a greats Military Service Organization. Thank you

Sorry, but what is USO?

Sorry, United Service Organization   "The United Service Organizations Inc. (USO) is an American nonprofit-charitable corporation that provides live entertainment, such as comedians, actors and musicians, social facilities, and other programs to members of the United States Armed Forces and their families. Since 1941, it has worked in partnership with the Department of War, and later with the Department of Defense (DoD),..."  wikipedia.com

One of the best known actors that went year after year was our very own  Bob Hope,  and others too many to mention.  They even went into the war zones.

I have long believed in the work of the USO, and have financially supported it.
very nice,  thank  you.  So you are for adding the category?

If I had someone who was part of the work of the USO, I would use it.  smiley

But this isn't a sticker and doesn't require three supporters.

So I should go ahead and add  USO to the  Category:

United States Military Support Organizations
