First off, a big thank you for sharing these lists of congressional memoirs. What a goldmine! These are such well-documented and valuable resources that can significantly enhance the WikiTree profiles we're working on. Especially when we're trying to connect profiles, nothing beats first-hand accounts for rich, detailed, and credible info.

This brings me to an interesting thought. I'm wondering if anyone has contemplated ways to streamline the process of aligning the Wikipedia pages of these individuals with their respective WikiTree profiles.

Given how advanced technology is these days, it'd be really neat if we could find a way to semi-automate this reconciliation process. We could potentially save tons of time and ensure consistency between the Wikipedia and WikiTree profiles. Plus, it'd make our job of connecting profiles that much easier!

Does anyone have ideas on this? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Excited to see where this goes!

This is an interesting idea, Patrick, perhaps meriting a new separate question of its own.

Many (all?) Wikipedia pages relating to people have an associated Wikidata entry, codifying properties including dates, locations, relationships, and other concrete information. This is already checked to some degree for consistency with WikiTree: see

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Advanced_Suggestions#Wikidata_Suggestions

Perhaps expansion of that mechanism could go some way to achieving what you propose.

Everything in wikipedia is not accurate. Sources should be checked when information is taken from there, just like any other possible source.
Interesting. Has anyone tried to use AI in Bing or Google to Build a profile that way or any other?

Hi Judy. There has been discussion of this approach. A number of people have expressed concerns that the results may be wrong. See
