Categorization question

Question

The question is,  should this lady be categorized as a First Nations Australian, given the only source I have is a funeral notice stating that the Funeral was conducted by the Victorian Aboriginal Funeral Services, in Drouin, Victoria Australia?

I live in Drouin so I popped down to the cemetery to see if there was anything that might help.

The photo on FG is up-to-date and the marker has not been changed. There was no information that wasn't already documented online.

I did note that several graves in close proximity were marked with the indigenous flag. Taken in conjunction with the Aboriginal Funeral Services organising the funeral, it seems to support identification of this lady as a First Nations person.

I also observed that her daughter has been laid to rest in the same plot.

You might try contacting the person who added the FindAGrave page and/or the cemetery.  Her death was fairly recent (2011), which may make finding an obituary possible as well.

Thanks Jane, I did look for an obit, but there didn't seem to be anything available. There isn't even an age given to help with a timeline.

It seems there was only a funeral notice in the Herald Sun, and it doesn't mention an age.
