Jayne,
I found several John Hales but have no idea whether they are your John Hale.
A good place to start is to more thoroughly develop the profile of your John Hale himself. It is currently unsourced and has very little information. In fact, only a wife's first name and a death date and place with no sources listed; and a claim that he and his wife were first cousins with no explanation for why this is believed. A son is named, as well as multiple grandchildren with not one source for any of the info. (At last count I clicked on a trail of twenty profiles and found not one source to support any of the info included in them.)
I have found that looking deeper into the info I have on my family- names, places, dates, etc. and finding and documenting sources to confirm them is always the best first place to start. Otherwise, I am just chasing my tail!
In the 1990s, I once searched for over a month for a parent of a man who, I later discovered, did not actually exist. Had I focused instead on first proving his existence and learning what I could about him, I would have known that and not wasted my time looking for another generation!
Abundant clues can often be found when we first focus on fully developing the story of one of our ancestors before looking for their ancestors.
Perhaps you have already done this but just not placed the info on the WikiTree profile. It would certainly help others to help you if the profiles included all the info that you have, and sources for that info. Currently, we have multiple generations of people, without a single source to support their existence, let alone their connection to each other. "Family records" are not actually sources or proof of existence.
At the risk of seeming unhelpful to you (but in reality, I believe I am giving you the best possible advice,) develop the profiles you already have; add sources and flesh out their stories as best you can with proof before looking for another generation.

Good luck and please let me know if you need any assistance.
Edited to add: as an example of the kind of info that can be added from a single source, I updated the profile of Stephen Marion Hale:
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hale-12156 with the information gleaned from the 1850 census and placed an appropriate inline citation. Another example is Forest Hale (1882-1956)
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hale-12372 with info from his death record.
